About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse (RN) position specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) located in Liberal, KS. The assignment is temporary, lasting 13 weeks, with a start date of November 1, 2026. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care across various units including labor and delivery, postpartum, couplet care, newborn nursery, and OBGYN post-operative units. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients, administering medications, supporting maternal and newborn care, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality care. This position requires the ability to work night shifts and travel, with specific distance requirements from the assigned site.

Requirements

Active RN license in Kansas
BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications through the American Heart Association
Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
Ability to work nights (7p–7a) and to travel as a traveler; must be at least 45 miles from the assigned site with mileage documented on submission
On-site drug screen; DS required as part of compliance items

Responsibilities

Provide registered nurse care in labor and delivery, postpartum, couplet care, newborn nursery, and OBGYN post-operative units as assigned
Monitor labor progression and fetal status, perform assessments, administer medications as ordered, and document findings per unit protocols
Support maternal and newborn stabilization, assist with routine postpartum care, newborn care, breastfeeding support, and family education
Collaborate with obstetric teams to coordinate care, ensure patient safety, and maintain infection control and quality standards
Respond to clinical changes and emergencies per pathway protocols; assist with post-operative care and transitions of care
