About The Position
This is a travel, temporary assignment for a 13-week duration in a hospital setting. The role focuses on maternity care within an acute care environment. The position is for a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery in Lowville, New York.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York
- Ability to work night shifts (6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.) and comply with every-other-weekend schedule
- Willingness to travel for a 13-week temporary assignment
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and teamwork skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting
Nice To Haves
- Experience or familiarity with labor and delivery or maternity care is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to labor and delivery patients, monitoring maternal and fetal status
- Administer medications and analgesia per established protocols; assist with labor and delivery as needed
- Support postpartum care for mother and newborn, including routine assessments and newborn care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record; ensure accurate and timely charting
- Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatal staff, anesthesiology, and other team members; respond to obstetric emergencies per protocol
- Promote patient comfort, safety, and education; advocate for patient needs and preferences throughout the peripartum period
