About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery located in Lamar, Colorado. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting September 14, 2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The role involves providing care in a hospital setting that offers obstetrics services, including labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. The nurse may be required to rotate units based on staffing needs. This is a temporary assignment with on-call requirements.

Requirements

Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
Current CPR certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year of employment
Graduate of an approved registered nursing program
Active Colorado nursing license
4 years obstetrics care preferred
Ability to work nights (7:00 pm–7:00 am) and on-call
Capable of functioning effectively in a labor and delivery setting

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to women in labor, during delivery, postpartum, and to the newborn, within OB nursing scope
Perform maternal assessments, monitor labor progression, assist with inductions and C-sections, and maintain accurate documentation
Administer prescribed IV medications and analgesia; monitor maternal and fetal status; support postpartum recovery and newborn care
Prepare the delivery room, provide emotional support to patients and families, and coordinate transfers as needed
Maintain infection control practices, sterile technique, and adherence to OB department policies
Collaborate with the healthcare team, communicate clearly with patients and families, and remain composed in high-stress situations
