About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Labor & Delivery (L&D) located in Roswell, NM. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026 and is for a weeks-long travel assignment. The schedule is a 4x12-night shift. The position is in an LDRP unit within a hospital setting, focusing on couplet care for laboring patients, mothers, and newborns. Responsibilities include triage and support across the obstetric spectrum. The weekly pay ranges from $2,653 to $2,847, with no guaranteed hours. The contract duration is weeks-long. Weekend coverage is every other weekend. The unit is an 11-bed LDRP unit (Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum) with mother/baby couplet care.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in New Mexico or NM/Compact license accepted; must be obtained prior to start.
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE.
  • Minimum 1 year in Labor & Delivery.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Epic charting experience or ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to function effectively in an LDRP unit with couplet care.
  • May be required to float to related units within scope with brief orientation.

  • Charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients in the LDRP unit, including support during labor and triage needs.
  • Deliver couplet care for mothers and newborns; monitor fetal status and maternal vitals; assist with vaginal deliveries and support during Cesarean sections and recovery.
  • Conduct newborn assessments, thermoregulation management, phototherapy as indicated, and breastfeeding/lactation support.
  • Document in Epic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (Respiratory, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy) to optimize patient safety and flow.
  • Educate families on care plans, newborn care, and discharge readiness; respond to obstetric emergencies with appropriate escalation.
  • Maintain clinical proficiency in obstetric care, triage, and post-delivery recovery within the LDRP model.
