About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery in Ukiah, CA. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role is in a short-term acute care hospital setting, focusing on labor, postpartum, and neonatal care within an acute care unit. The nurse will provide direct nursing care, monitor patients, administer medications, respond to emergencies, collaborate with healthcare teams, provide patient education, and ensure continuity of care through discharge planning. Accurate documentation, infection control, and maintaining a safe environment are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

California RN license (active) required.
Certifications: BLS required; NRP required; ACLS required.
Minimum two years of recent RN experience in labor and delivery and/or NICU settings.
Day shift availability; 12-hour shifts with start times around 6:00am–6:30pm or 7:00am–7:30pm; Level II NICU experience required for day shift.
Ability to work in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit with neonatal care responsibilities.

BSN preferred; Associate degree in Nursing acceptable with experience as noted below.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns per established standards and the nursing process.
Monitor fetal status, manage labor progression, administer medications, and respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Collaborate with obstetric, neonatal, anesthesia, and support teams; supervise and coordinate care across nursing staff as assigned.
Provide teaching to patients and families; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Document accurately, maintain infection control practices, and contribute to a safe, healing environment.
