About The Position

This assignment focuses on outpatient infusion care, including chemotherapy and blood product infusions, with weekend and holiday rotation per unit policy. The role involves providing care to Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients. The assignment is for a 17-week temporary assignment in a hospital-based infusion setting.

Requirements

• Active RN license (New York)
• Hematology/Oncology experience required (2+ years; acute care setting)
• Oncology Certification (ONC) required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Telemetry experience
• Recent acute care experience
• Ability to work in an outpatient infusion and cellular therapy environment

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, donor leukocytes, and CAR-T product infusions as part of the infusion service line
• Deliver direct patient care, coordinate treatment plans, and provide patient education to Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients
• Monitor patients during infusion and telemetry, recognize and respond to adverse events, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan care, manage schedules, and document in the electronic health record
• Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding treatment expectations, side effects, and post-infusion care
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety policies, and unit protocols; demonstrate independent critical thinking and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
