About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Post-Critical Care Unit (PCU) located in San Luis Obispo, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/14/2026. The role involves providing nursing care in a hospital-based step-down/PCU environment, requiring accurate ECG interpretation, patient monitoring, and collaboration with the healthcare team. This is a temporary assignment with opportunities for extension.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligibility to practice in California)
Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a step-down/PCU or similar acute care setting
Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation and monitoring
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
Strong teamwork skills and ability to supervise and delegate tasks to CNA staff

Responsibilities

Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, ensuring timely assessment, planning, and implementation of care
Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and respond to rhythm changes and life-threatening emergencies
Monitor patient status and intervene as needed to stabilize conditions in a high-acuity environment
Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel in accordance with scope of practice
Collaborate with the healthcare team and CNA staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety and continuity of care
Document care activities, monitor outcomes, and communicate changes in patient condition to the team
