About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Atlanta, GA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/08/2026, with 48 guaranteed hours per week. The role involves providing direct patient care to adult patients in a hospital-based setting, administering medications, monitoring patients, collaborating with the care team, documenting care, and supporting families with education and discharge planning.

Requirements

2 years of RN experience in PCU/IMCU or a similarly high-acuity unit
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Ability to work night shift and participate in a travel assignment
Comfortable managing IV therapies and critical care priorities per protocol
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adult patients in a PCU/IMCU, including continuous monitoring, vital signs, and response to clinical changes.
Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, including heparin drips, and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
Interpret monitoring data (telemetry, labs, imaging) and escalate concerns to the physician promptly.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other members of the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in the medical record; ensure patient safety and comfort.
Support families with education, discharge planning, and coordination of post-hospital care as appropriate.
