About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse – PCU/IMCU assignment in Utica, NY. The assignment is for a 13-week travel contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The role involves working night block shifts (2x3 Nights) in a hospital IMCU/PCU unit. The unit handles neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory cases, including chronic vent support. Floating to other units is a requirement. Epic EMR experience is preferred.

Requirements

Active RN license in New York (NYS) with Nursys verification of all licenses; NY license must be ACTIVE
2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU with documented travel nursing experience
Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Epic EMR experience required
Ability to work nights and float to other units as assigned
RTO (time-off) requests must be included at submission
Local candidates within 75 miles eligible for local-rate considerations

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for adult IMCU/PCU patients, with a focus on Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, and Respiratory conditions
Monitor and document patient status; perform frequent neuro checks, hemodynamic monitoring, and assessments
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; collaborate with the care team on plan of care
Manage patients with chronic ventilation support; coordinate with Respiratory Therapy for vent adjustments and weaning as indicated
Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation, orders, and communication; participate in on-going care coordination and discharge planning
Float to other units as needed; adhere to unit-specific protocols and safety standards; maintain patient safety and infection control practices
