About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in Utica, NY. The contract is for approximately 13 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care to adults in an Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU)/PCU setting, with the possibility of floating to other units as needed. The position offers guaranteed hours and competitive weekly pay.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license with Nursys verification; address on license matches demographics; RTO must be included at submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to float to IMCU/PCU and related units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults in the IMCU/PCU, monitoring neuro, cardiac, respiratory status and hemodynamics
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies; manage IVs, line care, and postoperative care as applicable
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to implement and update the plan of care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EPIC EMR; participate in rounds and discharge planning
- Respond to clinical changes, ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to unit protocols; assist with vent management and related equipment as needed
