About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at an acute-care hospital in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on patients with cardiac diagnoses and requires telemetry capabilities. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/08/2026, with a shift of day shifts on a 12-hour schedule, three days per week, guaranteeing 36 hours weekly. The weekly pay range is estimated between $1,661–$1,792.

Requirements

Current RN license in Georgia (or eligible per state requirements) and in good standing.
Documented PCU/IMCU cardiac population experience with a minimum of 2 years in a facility with a similar size (around 28 beds).
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Proficient in telemetry monitoring and EMR documentation; ability to manage cardiac drips and respond to critical events.
Able to work day shifts on a 12-hour schedule and function effectively in a high-acuity PCU environment.
Education: Graduation from an approved nursing program (RN).

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for adults on a PCU/IMCU with cardiac diagnoses (e.g., STEMI, NSTEMI) and assist with telemetry monitoring.
Administer and monitor cardiac therapies and drips per physician orders (e.g., Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors) and respond to hemodynamic changes.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, interpret telemetry, manage IVs, drains, medications, and perform accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and modify care plans, respond to rapid changes, and escalate concerns promptly.
Ensure patient and family education, discharge planning, and adherence to safety and infection-control protocols.
Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (approximately 1:3–4) and adapt when cross-covering telemetry beds with lower-acuity patients.
