About The Position
This is a travel Registered Nurse (PCU) assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role is in a step-down unit care setting. Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Ability to work the 3x12-hour night shift in a PCU/step-down unit setting
- Demonstrated ECG rhythm interpretation capability and emergency management skills
- Willingness to work within a travel assignment framework and adhere to unit protocols
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to support multidisciplinary care
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the PCU/step-down unit, coordinating ongoing assessment and interventions.
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care of patients during life-threatening emergencies.
- Monitor patient status closely and respond swiftly to deteriorations, following established protocols.
- Supervise and delegate care tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the care team and support staff, including CNA representation, to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
