About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion at a hospital in Rochester, New York. The contract is for 19 weeks, starting on 08/31/2026, with 10-hour shifts. The role involves providing infusion therapy for various treatments including hematology/oncology, monoclonal therapies, and non-oncology referrals. Responsibilities include patient teaching, monitoring, managing vascular access, operating infusion pumps, documenting care in an electronic medical record, and collaborating with the oncology care team. The typical caseload is about 8 patients per day, with a maximum capacity of 24.

Requirements

Current, unencumbered New York State RN licensure
2–3 years of recent infusion experience required; outpatient clinic experience highly desired
ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris infusion pumps
Strong IV/vascular access and port access skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication with patients, families, and the oncology care team

Responsibilities

Provide infusion therapy across hematology/oncology and monoclonal therapies, plus non-oncology referral infusions as assigned
Deliver chemotherapy teaching at the chairside and monitor patient responses during infusion
Manage IV/vascular access and port access with strong technique; operate infusion pumps
Document care in the electronic medical record and communicate with the oncology care team
Support a typical infusion caseload (about 8 patients per day; maximum daily capacity up to 24)
Collaborate with physicians, APPs, LPNs, infusion techs, and other nursing staff to ensure safe, effective patient care
