About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the ICU at a hospital in Utica, NY. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care to ICU patients, monitoring critical conditions, managing advanced equipment, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The nurse will also be required to float to other units as needed. Healthforce Healthcare LLC provides assignment support, credentialing assistance, and travel coordination.

Requirements

Active New York RN license; Nursys license verification in good standing; ALL active RN licenses must be verifiable.
2 years minimum ICU experience required.
Travel experience required.
Current AHA ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications.
Proficient with EPIC EMR.
Driver’s license with address that matches demographics.
RTO (time off) requests must be included at the time of submission.

Nice To Haves

4–5 years ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care for ICU patients, including neuro-medical, CTICU, trauma, and post-surgical populations.
Monitor and respond to critical patient conditions, manage ventilators, administer medications, and support CRRT/Prismaflex therapies as indicated.
Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation; collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff; participate in rounds and care planning.
Manage advanced equipment and procedures on unit patients (e.g., IABP, ICP monitoring, ventriculostomy, TTM) and implement care plans accordingly.
Float to other units as needed (excluding Behavioral and ER unless holding) to ensure adequate staffing and patient coverage.
Maintain patient safety, infection control, and comfort, while addressing family needs and education.
