About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in the ICU (Critical Care) at a hospital in Batavia, NY. The assignment starts on 08/31/2026 and lasts for Weeks. The role involves caring for adult patients with ventilated support and complex multisystem diagnoses in a mixed ICU setting. The weekly pay range is $1,916-$1,977, with a 3x12 Days shift. Orientation is 12 hours. Locals are not accepted; candidates must be over 75 miles away from the assignment location. Pre-approved time off is limited to two days per contract, and the nurse may be required to float to med/surg units as needed.

Requirements

  • Active New York RN license in hand
  • Minimum 2 years ICU/critical care experience
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Ability to work in a mixed ICU and float to med/surg units
  • Must be located more than 75 miles from the assignment facility
  • RTO limit: up to 10 days per contract
  • RN credential; specific degree not listed in notes

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for ventilated adult patients, including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and high-flow support as indicated
  • Maintain arterial lines and central lines; manage IV access, line care, and related monitoring
  • Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips; manage IV insulin protocols and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
  • Interpret ABGs and 12-lead EKGs; monitor for dysrhythmias and respond per protocol
  • Assist with chest tubes, blood product administration, and post-op critical care needs; support multisystem organ dysfunction management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, Respiratory Services, PT, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Radiology, Social Services, Transport, Unit Secretary, Interpretation services); participate in rounding and handoffs
  • Perform procedural sedation and emergency medication administration as needed
  • Document thoroughly in the Epic electronic medical record and maintain clear, ongoing communication with the care team
  • Maintain readiness to float to medical-surgical units when required
