About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a Critical Access Hospital in Clearlake, CA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing patient care for the ICU population, monitoring patient status, administering medications, managing airways, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and documenting care in the electronic health record. The nurse will also respond to changes in patient condition, adhere to unit protocols, and prioritize patient safety.

Requirements

• Current, active Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS required (ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire).
• At least two years of documented ICU experience and/or completion of an approved ICU training course; two years ICU experience preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic computer skills; ability to work in an ICU environment with flexibility to adapt to patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement patient care for the ICU patient population served on the unit.
• Monitor patient status, interpret hemodynamic and other monitors, and administer medications and IV therapies; manage airway and ventilator support as required.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team; document care in the electronic health record; ensure safety and infection control standards are maintained.
• Respond to changes in patient condition, formulate timely care plans, and participate in handoffs and care transitions.
• Adhere to unit protocols, prioritize patient safety, and support continuous improvement in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
