Requirements

New York RN license (OLNY)
BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in electrophysiology or related cardiology settings
Proficient in Epic documentation for procedures
Proficient in moderate sedation
Ability to work in a hospital EP lab environment in Rochester, NY

Nice To Haves

Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for electrophysiology procedures, ensure equipment and instrumentation are ready, and assist with sterile field setup during studies and ablations as the circulator
Monitor procedural readouts in real time and assist with lab analysis and interpretation, communicating any issues to the patient’s physician
Support pacing implementation and implantation of temporary or permanent cardiac devices; assist anesthesia and document during study and ablations
Maintain fluids for ablation catheters and assist with ablation equipment as needed
Document documentation in Epic; ensure accurate modality of data capture and patient records
Proactively coordinate room turnover, on-time starts, and unit staffing needs; collaborate with the Charge Nurse and vendors to ensure all team members and supplies are available for scheduled procedures
Proficiency in moderate sedation required; knowledge of mapping and device systems is beneficial (e.g., Carto, EnSite/Precision, Rhythmia)
