About The Position

Kaplan North America is hiring master’s-prepared nurses for its West and Rockies Regional travel teaching team. The instructor travels to locations across the United States to teach NCLEX preparation classes, with primary service areas that include Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and Idaho. The role offers a PRN teaching opportunity for nurses who enjoy travel and developing their professional skills and network.

Teachers receive paid training, teach from an existing curriculum, and have ongoing development opportunities to strengthen teaching, presenting, and mentoring skills. In addition to classroom instruction, instructors may separately support students through Kaplan Learning Integrated Coaching (KLIC), providing individualized email guidance based on students’ progress through Kaplan materials. Travel is required; lead time, locations, and dates depend on business needs and availability.

Requirements

• MSN, or BSN with a master’s degree.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license.
• At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel as required; lead time, locations, and dates are determined by business needs and availability.

Responsibilities

• Teach multiple in-person NCLEX preparation sessions at various locations throughout the year.
• Maintain a high energy level and engage students to provide an excellent student experience.
• Facilitate learning and learner development effectively.
• Learn Kaplan’s methodology and strategies quickly.
• Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing instructional meetings as required.
• Optionally provide individualized email guidance to students through the separate KLIC Coach role.
