About The Position

Kaplan North America is hiring master's-prepared nurses for its California Regional travel teaching team. Instructors travel to different locations to teach NCLEX preparation classes, helping future nurses prepare for the NCLEX exam. Primary locations served include Los Angeles, Norwalk, Aptos, Stockton, Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, Sacramento, Monrovia, and San Bernardino. The posting describes the position as a PRN opportunity. Instructors receive paid training, teach from an existing curriculum, and have access to ongoing development to strengthen teaching, presentation, and mentoring skills. A separate but related opportunity is available to support students virtually as a Kaplan Learning Integrated Coaching (KLIC) Coach, providing individualized guidance by email based on student progress through Kaplan materials.

Requirements

• MSN, or BSN with a master's degree required.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license.
• At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Travel is required; lead time, locations, and dates are determined by business needs and availability.

Responsibilities

• Teach multiple in-person NCLEX preparation sessions at various locations throughout the year.
• Maintain a high energy level and engage students to provide an excellent student experience.
• Facilitate learning and learner development effectively.
• Learn Kaplan's methodology and strategies quickly.
• Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing instructional meetings as required.
