About The Position

Kaplan North America is hiring master’s-prepared nurses for its Upper Midwest Regional travel teaching team. The instructor travels to different locations to teach NCLEX preparation classes, with primary locations including Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Missouri. The role offers the opportunity to support future nurses as they prepare for the NCLEX. It is described as a PRN position for people who enjoy travel and developing their professional skills and network.

Instructors receive paid training, teach from a pre-existing curriculum, and have access to ongoing development to build teaching, presentation, and mentoring skills. In addition to classroom instruction, Kaplan offers a separate but related opportunity to support students as a KLIC Coach, providing individualized email guidance based on student progress through Kaplan materials. Travel locations and dates are determined by business needs and availability.

Requirements

• MSN, or BSN with a master’s degree.
• Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel; locations and dates are determined based on business needs and availability.

Responsibilities

• Teach multiple in-person NCLEX preparation sessions at various locations throughout the year.
• Maintain a high energy level and engage students to ensure an excellent student experience.
• Facilitate learning and learner development effectively.
• Learn Kaplan’s methodology and strategies quickly.
• Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing instructional meetings as required.
