About The Position

AAA Travel Consultants sell international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, airfare, car rentals, and hotels. They use travel knowledge gained through personal experience or educational trips to advise members, build lasting relationships, encourage repeat and referral business, and recommend tailored options that exceed member expectations. Consultants also cross-sell relevant products, such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identify theft referrals. The role offers extensive training through The Auto Club University and the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which requires some travel for training. Consultants may have a path to future leadership opportunities; advancement evaluations consider sales, customer service, administrative and operational skills, up-selling, cross-selling, and goal achievement. The position requires availability for most Saturdays and some evenings.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Pass a comprehensive criminal background check and urine-sample drug screening.
Passion for travel.
Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings.
Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and web browsers, and use Microsoft Office.
Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
Strong organizational skills and comfort handling paperwork.
Sales drive, attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and good written and oral communication skills.
Interest and ability to participate in continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of successful retail sales or banking experience in a goal-oriented environment, or experience in a leisure travel agency.
Travel knowledge gained through personal experience and/or educational study trips.

Responsibilities

Develop long-standing relationships with members and build referral and repeat business.
Make appropriate recommendations tailored to members' expectations and intended to exceed their trip expectations.
Cross-sell relevant products, including the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identify theft referrals.
Participate in training and evaluations covering sales, customer service, administrative and operational skills, up-selling, cross-selling, and meeting goals.
