Travel Consultant
About The Position
As a Travel Consultant, you are the face of BCD Travel, communicating with and responding to requests from a dedicated client to help them travel smart and achieve more. You search and confirm travel reservations, advise customers on client travel policies, provide required travel-industry information, and fulfill requests regarding travel regulations. You also look for ways to improve operational processes and commercial relationships, while maintaining and expanding your knowledge of the travel industries supported. The role is remote in the United States and requires flexibility to work schedules that may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts, according to business needs.
Requirements
- Travel agent experience.
- Relevant skills in GDS Sabre.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Solid working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Flexibility regarding work schedules, which may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Responsibilities
- Search and confirm travel reservations for customers.
- Understand client travel policies and consistently provide consultation to customers.
- Fulfill requests regarding applicable regulations, including DOT, TSA, passports, and visas.
- Provide industry information such as low fares, exchange costs, and penalties.
- Review operational processes and commercial relationships with clients and suggest improvements.
- Maintain, communicate, and expand knowledge of the travel industries supported.
