About The Position

AAA Travel Consultants sell domestic and international travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel services. They use knowledge gained through personal experience and education trips to advise members, recommend travel options tailored to expectations, and build lasting relationships that encourage referrals and repeat business. Consultants also cross-sell relevant products, such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identify theft referrals. The role offers extensive training through The Auto Club University and a potential career path into leadership. Consultants are evaluated on sales, customer service, administrative and operational skills, up-selling, cross-selling, and achievement of goals; successful evaluations may lead to opportunities to grow into management. Training for new consultants includes a trainee program that requires some travel.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Pass a comprehensive criminal background check and thorough urine-sample drug screening.
Passion for travel.
Sales drive and commitment to exceeding goals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including comfort handling paperwork.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency navigating computers, multiple systems and web browsers, and Microsoft Office.
Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
Good written and oral communication skills and willingness to continuously learn.
Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings.

Nice To Haves

Two- or four-year college degree.
At least two years of successful retail sales or banking experience, or experience in a leisure travel agency, within a goal-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Develop long-standing relationships with members and generate referral and repeat business.
Recommend travel options tailored to members' expectations and help ensure their trip experience exceeds expectations.
Cross-sell relevant products, including the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identify theft referrals.
Meet established production tiers and goals across sales, customer service, administrative, and operational areas.
Complete the Travel Consultant Trainee program, including required travel for training.
