About The Position

The Transportation Logistics Specialist supports the coordination and execution of freight and delivery activities. Reporting to the Transportation & Logistics Supervisor, the Specialist plans shipments, tracks deliveries, manages documentation, and communicates with carriers and internal stakeholders. The role helps ensure goods move safely, on time, and cost-effectively while meeting compliance and safety standards. The position works closely with the logistics team and other departments to support daily transportation operations. Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a schedule sufficient to meet role expectations. Travel may be up to 10%, depending on business needs. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
1–3 years of experience in a transportation, shipping, or logistics support role; 2+ years is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Service-oriented mindset.
Ability to support transportation operations while adhering to compliance and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or ERP software.
Knowledge of shipping documentation and freight terminology.
Familiarity with DOT and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Support daily transportation operations, including load planning, scheduling, and shipment tracking.
Communicate with carriers and vendors to confirm shipping arrangements and provide updates.
Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in TMS or ERP systems.
Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and delivery receipts.
Monitor shipments in transit and assist with resolving delays or exceptions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to transportation and safety.
Coordinate with procurement, customer service, materials, and other internal departments to support timely deliveries.
Assist in compiling reports and performance metrics.
Identify and report process-improvement or cost-reduction opportunities.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
