About The Position

The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of fuel to RaceTrac and RaceWay stores. The role works to ensure fuel is delivered at an optimal price by monitoring and evaluating freight and fuel costs associated with carriers. It also monitors store fuel inventory and dispatches carriers to ensure stores receive appropriate inventory. Flexibility in work hours and schedule, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Requirements

1–3 years of professional experience; business or logistics experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility in work hours and schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Experience with GPS tracking software.

Responsibilities

Plan daily delivery activity for carriers and drivers within designated RaceTrac and RaceWay markets.
Serve as the first point of contact for truck drivers, communicating and resolving problems to facilitate fuel deliveries.
Manage store fuel inventory levels to prevent fuel run-outs.
Monitor water levels in store tanks and dispatch vendors to resolve issues.
Ensure carriers have correct loading information at terminals.
Act as a liaison between stores and the Store Support Center regarding potential fuel-delivery problems.
Schedule fuel tank pump-outs when needed.
Ensure contracts and deals are fulfilled.
Coordinate with fuel suppliers to set up new carriers.
Make limited financial decisions regarding supplier changes when needed.
Work independently to address daily transportation issues.
Monitor load plans and recommend charge-backs for unapproved carrier actions.
