About The Position

Le Pain Quotidien is seeking a Training Retailer to provide attentive hospitality and support restaurant retail and dining room operations. The role includes preparing drinks and to-go orders, handling sales transactions, maintaining pastry displays, and completing opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures. Team members are expected to keep restaurant areas clean and organized, respond to guest needs with empathy, and answer the phone and take orders. The position offers opportunities to develop skills and grow within Le Pain Quotidien and the Convive Brands portfolio.

Requirements

• One to three months of related restaurant experience or training.
• Flexibility in schedule is highly preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
• Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
• Anticipate guest needs and note preferences shared by guests.
• Prepare drinks for retail and the dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
• Bag, box, and arrange to-go food and pastries.
• Perform sales transactions according to Le Pain Quotidien cash-handling policy.
• Maintain and consolidate the pastry display throughout the day.
• Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
• Handle guest situations with empathy and escalate them to a manager as necessary.
• Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side work assignments.
• Keep restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
• Answer the phone using proper etiquette and take orders over the phone.
