About The Position

Le Pain Quotidien is seeking a Retailer to provide warm, attentive hospitality to guests in a restaurant environment. The role supports the guest experience by preparing drinks, managing retail and pastry displays, processing transactions, packaging takeaway orders, and maintaining clean, organized restaurant spaces. Retailers complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, handle guest situations with empathy, and may take orders by phone. Le Pain Quotidien is part of Convive Brands, which offers opportunities to grow across its restaurant concepts.

Requirements

1 to 3 months of related restaurant experience or training.
Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.

Nice To Haves

Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
Flexibility in schedule is highly preferred but not required.
Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
Anticipate guest needs and note preferences they share.
Prepare drinks for retail and the dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
Bag, box, and arrange to-go food and pastries properly.
Perform sales transactions according to Le Pain Quotidien cash handling policy.
Maintain and consolidate the pastry display throughout the day.
Maintain full knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
Handle guest situations with empathy and elevate them to a manager when necessary.
Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side work assignments.
Keep all restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
Answer the phone with proper etiquette and take orders over the phone.
