About The Position

The Retailer provides friendly, attentive hospitality to guests throughout their visit and supports service in the dining room and retail space. The role includes preparing beverages, handling retail and to-go food and pastry orders, processing transactions, maintaining pastry displays, and keeping the restaurant clean and organized. Retailers complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, respond to phone inquiries and orders, and address guest situations with empathy, escalating them to a manager when needed.

Requirements

1 to 3 months of related restaurant experience or training.
Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language or languages of the work location.

Nice To Haves

Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
Schedule flexibility is highly preferred but not required.
Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
Anticipate guest needs and note preferences shared by guests.
Prepare drinks for retail and the dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
Bag, box, and arrange to-go food and pastry orders.
Perform sales transactions in accordance with the company's cash-handling policy.
Maintain and consolidate the pastry display throughout the day.
Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
Handle guest situations with empathy and escalate them to a manager as necessary.
Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side work assignments.
Keep all restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
Answer the phone using proper etiquette and take orders by phone.
