About The Position

Le Pain Quotidien is hiring a Retailer to provide friendly, attentive hospitality and support guests throughout their visit. The role includes preparing drinks, packaging takeout food and pastries, completing sales transactions, maintaining the pastry display, and keeping restaurant areas clean and organized. Retailers also handle guest concerns, complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, and answer the phone and take orders. Team members may be cross-trained across the dining room and retail space. The listed hourly pay range is $18.42–$20.40, plus tips when eligible.

Requirements

1 to 3 months of related restaurant experience or training.
Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language or languages of the work location.

Nice To Haves

Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
Schedule flexibility is highly preferred but not required.
Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
Anticipate guest needs and note preferences they share.
Prepare drinks for retail and the dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
Bag, box, and arrange takeout food and pastries properly.
Complete sales transactions in accordance with the cash handling policy.
Maintain and consolidate the pastry display throughout the day.
Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
Handle guest situations with empathy and escalate to a manager when needed.
Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side work assignments.
Keep all restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
Answer the phone with proper etiquette and take orders over the phone.
