About The Position

Le Pain Quotidien is seeking a Retailer to support its guest experience in a warm, welcoming restaurant environment. The role involves providing attentive hospitality, preparing drinks and retail orders, handling transactions, maintaining pastry displays, and keeping restaurant areas clean and organized. Team members may be cross-trained in dining room and retail duties and have opportunities to develop skills and grow across Convive Brands’ restaurant concepts. The hourly pay range is $17.87–$20.40, plus tips when eligible.

Requirements

One to three months of related restaurant experience or training.
Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.

Nice To Haves

Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
Flexibility in schedule is highly preferred but not required.
Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
Anticipate guest needs and note preferences guests share.
Prepare drinks for retail and the dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
Bag, box, and arrange to-go food and pastries properly.
Perform sales transactions according to Le Pain Quotidien’s cash handling policy.
Maintain and consolidate the pastry display throughout the day.
Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
Handle guest situations with empathy and escalate them to a manager when necessary.
Complete opening, mid, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side work assignments.
Keep restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
Answer the phone with proper etiquette and take orders over the phone.
