About The Position

As a Retailer at Le Pain Quotidien, you provide friendly, attentive hospitality and support guests throughout their visit. The role includes preparing drinks, assembling takeout orders, processing sales, maintaining pastry displays, and keeping the restaurant clean and organized. Retailers complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, answer the phone and take orders, and help create a warm, welcoming experience. The position offers opportunities to develop skills and grow within Le Pain Quotidien and the broader Convive Brands portfolio.

Requirements

1 to 3 months of related restaurant experience or training.
Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.

Nice To Haves

Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
Schedule flexibility; preferred but not required.
Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
Anticipate guest needs and note guest preferences.
Prepare drinks for retail and the dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
Bag, box, and arrange takeout food and pastries properly.
Process sales transactions according to Le Pain Quotidien cash-handling policy.
Maintain and consolidate the pastry display throughout the day.
Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
Respond to guest situations with empathy and escalate them to a manager when necessary.
Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side-work assignments.
Keep restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
Answer the phone using proper etiquette and take orders by phone.
