About The Position

Drives and operates a specific service vehicle, such as a tow truck or battery/light service vehicle, and operates towing equipment for AAA members and commercial purposes. Performs simple vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting while providing an outstanding customer service experience. This is a night position. Pay is $27.50 per hour, with the potential to earn up to an additional $1,900 per month through quality and productivity incentives.

Requirements

• Clear and proficient verbal and written communication, including under pressure.
• Common knowledge of vehicle components and common reasons for vehicle failure.
• Problem-solving and listening skills to evaluate member safety, identify safety issues, and respond appropriately.
• Ability to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Two years of experience in a customer-contact role.
• Complete relevant education and training, such as AAA Compliance Training, RPST, TSAAC, Lock-out, PSP, and Battery Service Training.
• Ability to lift and carry tires and parts weighing up to 50 pounds several times a day, and bend, kneel, and stoop as required for service calls.
• Provide a photograph for identification purposes.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational technical automotive training or certification, or equivalent experience.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a service vehicle to provide services such as flat tire changes, lock-out assistance, and fuel delivery.
• Interact with customers at service locations, establish rapport, build relationships and trust, and solve problems.
• Use sales skills to offer AAA products and services to members during service interactions.
• Use onboard computers, radio communications, and mapping systems.
• Complete daily paperwork, including call logs, battery invoices, and cash receipts.
• Perform simple diagnostics and troubleshooting on vehicles and operate towing equipment.
