About The Position

AAA Mountain West Group is hiring a flatbed tow service operator to assist members who are stranded or experiencing vehicle trouble. The role provides roadside assistance, safe and efficient tow-truck operation, and a reassuring customer experience. No prior towing experience is required; AAA provides paid training. The position is based in Reno, Nevada. Schedule flexibility is needed during the first 4–6 weeks of training, followed by a 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. shift, Saturday through Wednesday. The posting also describes possible shifts beginning at 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m. and ending at midnight, including weekends. The role guarantees a minimum of 40 hours per week. Starting pay is $22.75 per hour, with shift differentials and potential monthly productivity incentives of up to $1,900.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Customer-first mindset and passion for helping people.
• Willingness and flexibility to work assigned shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to lift and carry tires and parts weighing up to 50 pounds several times a day, and to bend, kneel, and stoop as service calls require.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and traffic conditions, including at wet, messy, or hazardous vehicle recovery sites.
• Provide a photograph for identification purposes.

Responsibilities

• Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently.
• Perform simple vehicle diagnostics to identify vehicle issues.
• Provide roadside assistance, including tire changes, fuel delivery, and vehicle lock-outs.
• Build trust, solve problems, and provide a calming presence for members at service sites.
• Communicate clearly and proficiently, verbally and in writing, including under pressure.
• Use vehicle-component knowledge and problem-solving and listening skills to evaluate member safety and respond appropriately.
• Drive manual- and automatic-transmission vehicles.
