About The Position

The Tire Technician assists members with selecting and purchasing tires, verifies tire sizes for vehicles, and installs and repairs tires. The role includes mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires; completing tire bay scheduling data and sales and service documentation; maintaining supply inventory; and following tire bay policies, safety requirements, and cleanliness standards. The technician also maintains a clean, professional tire bay and waiting area, merchandises tire displays and automotive products, and provides knowledgeable service at the tire desk. Other duties may include filling propane tanks when certified, disposing of tires properly, and working in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills or willingness to learn basic computer skills.
• Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
• Ability to lift over 30 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Prior tire installation experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in selecting and purchasing tires, including verifying vehicle tire sizes.
• Install tires by mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing them; perform tire repairs as needed.
• Properly dispose of tires and fill propane tanks when certified and as needed, in accordance with club policy and DOT requirements.
• Maintain a clean and professional tire bay and waiting area, and merchandise tire displays and automotive products.
• Provide knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk and coordinate with Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
• Maintain accurate supply inventory and appropriately use available special-order tire programs.
• Complete tire bay scheduling data and documentation for sales and service orders.
• Follow club policies and procedures, safety requirements, and cleanliness standards, and use tire bay equipment properly.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
