About The Position

The Automotive Tire Technician assists members in selecting and purchasing tires and is responsible for installing and repairing tires, completing tire bay documentation, and following tire bay policies and procedures. The role includes mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires; maintaining tire displays, automotive products, supply inventory, and a clean, professional tire bay and waiting area; and providing knowledgeable service at the tire desk. The technician may fill propane tanks when certified under DOT requirements and must properly dispose of tires. The role also requires following safety and cleanliness standards, using tire bay equipment appropriately, coordinating with Home Office about member tire needs as needed, and completing scheduling data and sales and service documentation. Other duties may be assigned, including work in other departments. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills or willingness to learn basic computer skills.
• Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Prior tire installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with selecting and purchasing tires, including verifying vehicle tire sizes.
• Install tires by mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing them; repair tires as needed.
• Complete tire bay scheduling data and documentation for sales and service orders.
• Properly dispose of tires and fill propane tanks in accordance with club policy when certified per DOT requirements.
• Maintain a clean and professional tire bay and waiting area.
• Merchandise tire displays and automotive products.
• Provide knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk.
• Coordinate with Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
• Maintain an accurate and complete supply inventory.
• Understand and appropriately use available special-order tire programs.
• Follow safety and cleanliness standards and properly use tire bay equipment.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support club standards and compliance.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
