Tire Technician Part Time $1000 Sign on Bonus!
About The Position
The Tire Technician assists members with selecting and purchasing tires, verifies tire sizes for vehicles, and installs and repairs tires. The role includes mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires; completing tire bay scheduling data and sales and service documentation; maintaining tire bay supplies, policies, and procedures; and keeping the tire bay and waiting area clean and professional. The technician also merchandises tire displays and automotive products, provides knowledgeable service at the tire desk, and uses available special-order tire programs. Additional duties include properly disposing of tires, filling propane tanks when certified under DOT requirements, following safety and cleanliness standards, and working in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn basic computer skills.
- Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Nice To Haves
- Prior tire installation experience preferred.
- DOT certification for filling propane tanks, when applicable.
Responsibilities
- Assist members in selecting and purchasing tires, including verifying tire sizes for vehicles.
- Install tires by mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing them; repair tires as needed.
- Complete tire bay scheduling data and documentation for sales and service orders.
- Properly dispose of tires and fill propane tanks as needed when certified under DOT requirements.
- Maintain a clean, professional tire bay and waiting area; merchandise tire displays and automotive products.
- Provide knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk and coordinate with Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete supply inventory and use available special-order tire programs appropriately.
- Comply with safety and cleanliness standards and properly use tire bay equipment.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and assist in other departments as needed.
- Support member service, safety, teamwork, inclusion, and daily club standards.
