About The Position

The Tire Bay Service Supervisor manages tire bay operations at the club level, including tire sales, installation and repairs, team supervision, safety, and compliance with tire bay policies and procedures. The supervisor leads and develops team members, supports strong member service, maintains operational standards, and uses business reporting to identify opportunities and improve performance. The role also involves tire installation and sales, inventory and equipment management, tire bay records and audits, and coordination with the Home Office as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of tires, batteries, propane tanks, and tire bay equipment.
• Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing or supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results.
• For a person working as a Manager on Duty in Florida, ability to successfully complete and hold the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services qualifier certification is required. BJ’s pays for the training and exam costs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma and/or college degree preferred.
• Prior tire installation and sales experience preferred.
• Level 400 certified technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise tire bay team members and ensure they work safely and follow tire bay policies and procedures.
• Ensure appropriate scheduling and staffing in areas of responsibility.
• Oversee proper tire installation, including mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing; install, sell, and repair tires.
• Ensure proper tire disposal and that propane tanks are filled according to club policy.
• Maintain, order, and safely operate tire installation equipment.
• Keep the tire bay and waiting area clean and professional, and merchandise tire displays and automotive products.
• Ensure knowledgeable service is provided to members at the tire desk and coordinate with the Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
• Maintain accurate supply inventory and use available special-order tire programs appropriately.
• Monitor tire bay sales transactions and handle cash transactions when applicable.
• Comply with safety and cleanliness standards; manage tire bay audits and checklists.
• Oversee tire bay records retention and ensure required TIA and Titan certifications are completed on time and kept on file.
• Use PlayerLync to follow up on additional training required for tire bay team members.
• Build working relationships with team members, motivate and develop them, administer performance appraisals, and provide clear, constructive communication.
• Lead, train, coach, and engage team members; communicate expectations, provide feedback, recognize success, and support an inclusive and safe environment.
• Deliver service excellence, set service expectations, and support team members in resolving member concerns.
• Lead teams in meeting daily GOLD club standards, including stocking, promotional execution, accurate signage, and cleanliness and organization.
• Use business reporting to understand performance, identify trends and process breakdowns, and support club profitability and financial targets.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
