About The Position

As a Tire Technician, you will mount and balance new wheelsets for GM and Ford dealerships and dismount returned scrap rims from dealerships. The role involves handling wheel components and finished products, operating wheel and material-handling equipment, maintaining the work area, and supporting other operational departments. You will follow safety and quality-control measures and participate in daily huddles and continuous-improvement initiatives. You are also expected to adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices with the SAS mission and vision. The role pays $23–$25 per hour based on experience and offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and speak English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Consistent work history and attendance.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to adapt to and learn innovative technologies.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Must meet company background-check and drug-screen requirements.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Must be able to work in the heat.

Responsibilities

Pull wheels and tires from the pull sheet provided by the associate pulling orders.
Dismount new tires from scrap or returned rims using the provided wheel equipment.
Mount and balance newly constructed wheelsets using the wheel equipment.
Clean and maintain machines and the work area.
Use RF guns to log completed wheelsets.
Look up stock and inventory for wheel components.
Use forklifts to retrieve parts for wheel assembly.
Stack finished-product wheels on a pallet by hand.
Use a fork or hand truck to stage wheels for shipment.
Assist other operational departments.
Follow safety and quality-control measures.
Participate in daily huddles and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices with the SAS mission and vision.
