About The Position

The Sportsbook Ticket Writer is the face of the retail sportsbook operation, providing a high level of customer service to regular and novice bettors and helping everyone feel welcome. The Ticket Writer is expected to understand the available sports betting options, answer customer questions, and help customers make informed, responsible decisions about sports wagering. The role requires professional conduct, adherence to company and gaming regulatory requirements, and completion of compliance documentation. The position pays $15.92 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check and obtain a gaming license.
• Must have at least 1 year of cash handling experience.
• Must demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Must present oneself professionally.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to do simple math.
• Must understand and adhere to company and regulatory agency compliance requirements.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Must have basic computer knowledge, including email, MS Excel, and the internet.
• CER license is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is preferred.
• Prior work experience in a sportsbook is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to sportsbook visitors.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations set by the regulatory gaming agency.
• Answer customer questions or find answers in a timely manner.
• Attempt to de-escalate customer disputes and complaints, escalating them to a direct supervisor when needed.
• Communicate and promote available sports betting options to customers.
• Represent William Hill professionally and uphold its standards.
• Complete required Title 31 paperwork and documentation according to company policy and gaming control board standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
