About The Position

The Sportsbook Ticket Writer is the face of the retail operation, providing a high level of customer service to regular and novice bettors and ensuring guests feel welcome at the sportsbook. The Ticket Writer is expected to understand the available sports betting options and help customers with questions so they can make informed, responsible wagering decisions. The position pays $15.92 per hour and requires a CER license.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have at least 1 year of cash-handling experience.
• Must have basic computer knowledge, including email, MS Excel, and internet use.
• Must provide a high level of customer service.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Must be able to perform simple math.
• Must understand and adhere to company and regulatory-agency compliance requirements.
• Must present a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must be a self-starter who shows initiative.
• Must be able to motivate, lead, and mentor staff members.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods; the posting also specifies standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift, pull, or push 25 pounds.
• Must be able to write for extended periods.
• Must be able to twist, bend, or reach without significant boundaries.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check and obtain a gaming license.
• CER license is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is preferred.
• Prior work experience in a sportsbook is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to anyone who visits the sportsbook.
• Follow company rules and regulations established by the regulatory gaming agency.
• Answer customer questions to the best of their knowledge or promptly find the answers.
• Attempt to de-escalate customer disputes and complaints and escalate them to a direct supervisor when needed.
• Communicate and promote the available sports betting options to customers.
• Represent William Hill professionally and uphold its standards.
• Complete required compliance (Title 31) paperwork and documentation according to company policy and gaming control board standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
