The Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field-based role responsible for driving demand for BMS medicines in the cardiovascular portfolio for appropriate patients. The TAS engages health care providers (HCPs) through differentiated customer experiences and scientific dialogue consistent with product labeling, while prioritizing safe and appropriate product use and business results. The role builds and maintains professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community-based physicians and other HCPs, office staff, and stakeholders in the patient care continuum, serving as a primary point of contact. The TAS collaborates with other BMS functions to meet HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner and is expected to spend much of their time in the field with external customers. The role promotes approved indications, develops territory and account plans, uses available tools and insights to guide call planning, and presents balanced, medically accurate scientific information. It also includes organizing external speaker programs, staying current with data for approved indications, responding to unsolicited questions through Medical on Call, and sharing customer insights across internal teams. The TAS must comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
