About The Position

The Teller provides excellent banking service to clients in a professional and courteous manner, maintains a basic understanding of banking products and services, accurately and efficiently processes client transactions, and complies with company and departmental policies and regulations. The position operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and may perform vault teller and other customer service responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other common PC-based software.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while processing customer transactions.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (boxes/bags of coins, etc.).

Nice To Haves

Six months to one year of cash handling experience in a customer-service environment; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer transactions.
Receive checks and cash for deposits and loan payments; verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement as needed, and enter transactions into computer records.
Sell cashier's checks.
Balance the cash drawer at the end of the shift, compare the total to the teller system, and report discrepancies to a supervisor as necessary.
Keep the teller station stocked with forms and supplies.
Cash checks and process withdrawals; verify signatures and customer balances before paying out money.
Count, check, and package coins and currency.
Assist with bank-by-mail, night depository, and ATM functions as necessary.
Open new deposit accounts and safe deposit box accounts, and perform other customer service representative responsibilities when needed in the absence of the customer service representative.
Meet performance and production goals determined by management.
Perform vault teller responsibilities as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
