About The Position

The Telehealth Medical Assistant serves as a “Telehealth Concierge” and an extension of the clinical team, helping residents at partner skilled nursing facilities receive care from clinicians through telehealth. The role coordinates patient visits, transports telehealth equipment between rooms, and provides a welcoming interface before clinicians begin therapy sessions. The Medical Assistant works closely with EMH clinicians, liaisons, and facility staff to coordinate care, support referrals, and identify potential patients. The position requires in-person visits to skilled nursing facilities and travel between facilities as requested.

Requirements

Must be able to drive to assigned facilities and make in-person visits to skilled nursing locations.
Experience with infection control and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must complete a background check.
Weekly or monthly COVID-19 testing is required.
Must be flexible with scheduling and available on weekends.
Must have active cellular service for communication with staff.
Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

Visit assigned skilled nursing facilities for daily work assignments and travel to facilities as requested.
Bring telehealth equipment from patient to patient for services at partner skilled nursing facilities.
Assist clinical staff by discussing telehealth services with new patients.
Coordinate care with clinical staff and facility staff.
Provide and gather patient medical documentation as instructed by clinical staff.
Prepare, sanitize, recharge, and safely store equipment using the daily checklist.
Work closely with facility staff and provide follow-up as needed.
Develop working knowledge of the Doxy telehealth web application.
File clinical documentation as directed by facility staff.
Troubleshoot general Wi-Fi and internet connectivity issues; live support is available as needed.
Adhere to HIPAA privacy regulations.
