About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. Depending on location, the fleet primarily includes aerial work platforms and general construction tools and equipment. Specialty locations may also service large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment makes and models, build skills for careers in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The position may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade and bilingual ability depending on location needs. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more.
Ability to work indoors or outdoors as required by the job.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training.
Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
