About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and equipment repairs safely and effectively to minimize downtime. Equipment varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-line locations may also operate large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work on varied equipment and opportunities to build skills for a career in service or operations management in a safety-focused environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide mechanic’s tools of the trade if needed.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
• Physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty-line equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
