About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair equipment safely and effectively to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-line locations may also include large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment makes and models, develop skills for a career in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The position may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
• Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-line equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
• Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be needed.
