About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-line locations may also service large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work with a variety of equipment and opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required depending on location needs.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty-line equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
