About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also service large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on varied equipment in a safety-focused team environment, develop new skills, and pursue a career path in service or operations management. Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be required. Physical duties include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
• Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be needed.
