About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair equipment safely and effectively to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms and general construction tools and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also operate large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role offers work on a variety of equipment and opportunities to build skills for a career in service or operations management in a safety-focused environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide mechanic’s tools of the trade if needed.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required depending on location.
• Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors when required by the job.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
