About The Position

Walmart is hiring an Exterior Services Technician - DOT Operator to help maintain store grounds and exterior areas year-round. The role involves mowing, trimming, pruning, and other landscaping and grounds-maintenance activities in parking lots, around exterior buildings, and in surrounding areas. The technician works with fellow associates to manage landscaping and exterior maintenance, evaluates landscaping needs, and implements sustainable upgrades. The position requires compliance with safety, security, integrity, corporate policies, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.

The position requires applicants to be at least 21 years old, hold a valid state-issued driver's license, communicate in English, and successfully complete a DOT physical and medical certification process. Applicants must meet the stated driving-history standards. Two years of landscaping or gardening industry experience is required.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license.
• Have the ability to read and speak English.
• Successfully complete a DOT physical and obtain medical certification before hire.
• Have no DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless-driving convictions involving alcohol or drugs within the past three years.
• Have no more than two moving violations in the past three years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Have no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, in the past three years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Have no preventable accidents, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, in the past three years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Have two years of experience in the landscaping or gardening industry.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to maintain a medical examiner's certification card valid for at least 90 days.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in engineering, maintenance, construction management, or a related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Intermediate-level experience with word-processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State or local licensing where required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct grounds maintenance in parking lots, around exterior buildings, and in surrounding areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Mow, trim, and prune to maintain exterior grounds.
• Work with fellow associates on landscaping and exterior maintenance.
